Social Behavior in the Multicultural Environment (1999-2000)

The main goal of this project was to respond to the need of the Moldavian and Bulgarian public to get acquainted, and in this way to contribute to their actual development both on regional and community level.

The project activities included carrying out reciprocal study visits of journalists, media experts, NGO activists and experts from the state institutions in Moldavia and Bulgaria. During the visits, the participants were acquainted with the work of the state institutions, the political parties, media and non-governmental organizations. Ministers, MPs and other high level politicians, as well as intellectuals: writers, musicians and journalists, discussed their interaction for establishing a tolerant and non-discriminatory multicultural society in both countries.

The final project stage included publishing of the book Bessarabian Bulgarians in Moldavia. An Attempt for a Portrait in 2001 circulated by ACCESS Association. The edition summarizes the impressions of the Bulgarian team of the contemporary situation of the Bulgarian minority in Moldavia, of the development of the Moldavian non-governmental organizations, of the rights of the ethnic minorities as regard to their legal framework etc.
