The Role of the Local Elite in Community Affairs (1998)

This project included surveys in Bulgaria, Russia and Hungary. ACCESS Association took up the management of the second stage of the survey in Bulgaria in 1998. The Association conducted a field study on local counsellors and mayors.

Within the project, ACCESS provided consultancy on the specific characteristics of the Balkan and national psychology in the preparation of the questionnaires. The Association also conducted public opinion survey through direct interviews in communities selected by random sampling. The different units of analysis formed the basis of comparison between the separate regions in the country, on the one hand, and between Bulgaria and the East European countries, on the other.
