This book is a follow-up of the project A Civic Network
for Multicultural Integration and Cultural Pluralism in Southeastern
Europe. It was a joint project of the
Research
Center
on Inter-Ethnic Relations, Romania and ACCESS-Sofia Foundation implemented
in the years 1997-1999.
The authors try to identify the main aspects and
difficulties in the legal regulation of interethnic relations, as well as
its implementation into practice in
Bulgaria and Romania.
Even given these limits, the text is not exhaustive, as the authors focus
only on the problems clearly articulated in the public debate.
The authors summarize and compare the basic facts that
would facilitate the outside reader to easily imagine the framework within
which the “minority” problems in these countries can be viewed.
The
leaflet can also serve as a working reference book for all those, who are
interested in the problems of cultural pluralism in Bulgaria and Romania. |
