This book is a result
of ACCESS’ Handbook of the Local Representative Project
implemented in 1998.
This collection is a
part of a series of anti-corruption readers that were published and
circulated within Coalition 2000 information and educational campaign. The
main goal of the edition is to help the every-day work of municipalities,
local and regional state sections, local NGOs and civil structures; to
strengthen the efforts for transparency and publicity in the local
authorities, for participation of the citizens in the local
self-government and for raising the confidence in the local government
institutions.
The collection includes
three elaborations of Bulgarian experts on the local self-government law
framework, on the opportunities of direct and indirect citizens’
participation, on the new forms of civic control exercised in the
municipalities. |
