Bessarabian Bulgarians in Moldavia. An Attempt for a Portrait is a result of a working visit of group of Bulgarian journalists, representatives of non-governmental organizations and experts from public institutions to Moldavia from 20^th to 27^th November 1999 within the project Social Behavior in the Multicultural Environment. In the capital and other areas of Moldavia, the Bulgarian guests had meetings with Bessarabian Bulgarians and leaders of their scientific and cultural organizations as well as conversations with ministers, MPs, writers, journalists, musicians and other representatives of the Moldavian society.

The book summarizes the impressions of the Bulgarian team on the Moldavian society through historical surveys, interviews, and political analyses. That is one of the most attractive and useful points of the texts. On the other hand, the different points of view on Moldavia and its political, cultural and social structures also make the book remarkable.
