Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant (Study Trip for Journalists)
May 2004

À study trip to Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant was held from 19 to 23 May 2004.

The study trip was expected to provide the participants with deeper insight into the intricacy of Kozloduy NPP issue. It was with a fact-finding mission, and was organized in three stages: a) meetings with representatives of different institutions and organizations concerned with the NPP; b) a visit to Kozloduy NPP site; c) a round table discussion. The meetings with experts, policy-makers, NGO activists gave an idea of the different approaches to the matter while the visit to the plant – a “see-it-yourself” activity – helped overcome the existing, and avoid further, speculations about the condition of the plant itself. It also gave journalists a unique chance to check out facts, providing them with exceptional experience.

Participants were journalists from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia.

The study trip was organized under the Calendar of activities of the South East European Network for the Professionalization of the Media (SEENPM).
